Her Name was Chloe Holland

At our April 2024 Salon, we were honoured to welcome Sharon Holland, who came from Portsmouth to tell us about her campaign for justice for her daughter Chloe, who took her own life after experiencing domestic violence and abuse.

Sharon and her campaign manager Kirsty told us about their efforts to change the law, to encourage police forces and the Crown Prosecution Service to bring charges against abusive partners who commit manslaughter by coercive control.

It was a very moving discussion, and we are grateful to Sharon and Kirsty for taking the time to talk with us.

Sharon’s petition to the government has now closed with over 17,000 signatures, but the campaign is continuing, with a push to amend the Criminal Justice Bill by introducing a new clause 11a in the House of Lords. Sharon asked supporters to contact MPs to encourage them to support this effort.
